Response to Garry LockwoodReader comment on item: Muslim Zionism Submitted by Elizabeth (United States), Jun 8, 2006 at 16:59 Jerusalem is mentioned in the Quran by the name of "Al-Quds". It is not a name mentioned often at all. The only one I know of is (Qur'an 2:142-144) where Muhammad was instructed to change the Qibla ( where Muslims turned to pray) from Jerusalem to Mecca. You can find Jerusalem mentioned in the Hadiths more than the Quran. Basically the only significance of Jerusalem is the Al Aqsa Mosque. Not much else.
