Muslim Zionism, the hidden agendaReader comment on item: Muslim Zionism Submitted by Octavio Johanson (Italy), Jun 9, 2006 at 07:52 Jewish Zionism might be about religion and God's role for the nation of Israel. Of course, there are probably Israelis who use Zionism for political reasons, but the main idea is that Jerusalem is a holy city, given by the God of the Old Testament to the Jews. Muslims also see Jerusalem as a Holy City. However, Muslim Zionism seems to be about land and power, as opposed to religion and faith. I know: Jewish Zionists also want land. However, Muslim Zionism is all about the strategic control of the city of Jerusalem. It also happens to be one of Islam's holy sites. But for a secular Muslim like Arafat, controlling Jerusalem was not about God or Allah. It was about land, power and money.
