Lisa,

If you want the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, speak to former Muslims. Those who sneak around speaking quietly, for fear of the reprisals they will face. Those who in 2005, cannot boldly say they left the religion.

Speaking to Christians, Jews, or Muslims will not get you the gut wrenching guilt it takes to say, I've quit. The guilt deserves a book in itself. Facing society, family, friends, another. Using psuedonyms to show why they've quit. It's as if their is some leper colony for those who "choose" to worship in another faith.

All religion aside, the reason Jesus walked the earth, was to help mortals evolve. To raise their consciouness, to reach another level of spirituality. To take humans to the point of digesting all the laws it took to make us all civilized, and help us transcend our earthly, base instincts into another dimension. And, when we pass on to the other dimension, through death, our passing should be to a place that has "no earthly desires" such as food, sex, pleasures of the flesh. It should be a place of knowledge, peace, light and love. What is the point of dying, if we are getting the same thing on the other side?

How can anyone attain any of these attributes, if one wakes up in the morning, pondering a suicide mission for the sake of God and humanity? Missions now that now include women, the so-called respected mothers, who should be protected? Is this what womanhood has diminished itself to? Blowing yourself up to achieve the praise and acceptance you could not receive by being "merely a woman" in society? Leaving children behind? Orphans for a cause?

Then, stamping her with the prestigious title of martyr, or shaheeda? These women, have stooped to the weakest, most depraved act a human can stoop to, suicide. Murder of a soul. Please, do not praise them. Pity them for falling for the male rhetoric that brought them there. Pity their children, but for the sake of humanity, do not give them any flowery obitituaries.

Until I see all the devout Muslims openly condemning this abhorrent behaviour, loudly, will I believe in the peace aspect that is so proudly repeated. Denial is a dangerous thing. Silence, even more dangerous.

God is Love. God would never condone a woman blowing herself to smithereens to prove her love for Him, or to make a "political point"....
