Reader comment on item: Converts to Terrorism

Submitted by Mu'een Ud Deen (United Kingdom), Dec 16, 2005 at 05:07

Asalaamu Alaykum to the Mumineen,
Firts and foremost, this Belgian woman became a suicide-bomber, because she was one of many people who realised the injustices directed to the Ummah (Muslim international community). I personally condemn violence, but this woman was ready to lay-down her life, because she believed so strongly that their was wrong - does this not tell you anything?

In Britian, they accused four Muslims of suicide bombings in London, however these Muslims are dead, and the government will not allow a public inquiry - does this not arouse suspicion? What have the governement to conceal? Why no public inquiry?
Once again, I codemn violence (so should every Muslim and non-Muslim), however you failed to mention the millions of raped BOSNIAN WOMAN by the Russian military, the millions of women, who were raped during the migration to Pakistan (during the formation of a Muslim state - 1947, all the women who were killed and raped by Sikh's).

As for the Quranic ayats (verses) that were mentioned you failed (again) to include;
'How can there be a league, before Allah and His Messenger, with the Pagans, except those with whom ye made a treaty near the sacred Mosque? As long as these stand true to you, stand ye true to them: for Allah doth love the righteous.'
(Deluded from the truth). Allah only permits killing or the killing of kufr (non-believers), when the Muslim Ummah is beng attacked, Jihad is only allowed as 'defence.' In the Qur'an it mentions that Jihad has various forms, however a Muslim should declare or partake Jihad politically (first) or verbally. Only then if their is no other alternative Allah permits phsiycal Jihad.

Many people (terrorists such as Osama bin Laden) innovate such ayaats (like the ones you have mentioned) for their own evil purposes. What you have done is taken the relative verse, without consulting the Sunnah and other forms of Islamic scripture, therefore you have INTREPETED IT DIFFERENTLY without consultation from other sources (translations), because ABDULLAH YUSUF ALI's translation is in regards to Shia and Sunni believes, Yusuf Ali has compiled a translation using both Shia and Sunni Qur'ans. If you wish to know proper translation check Scholars (not Yusuf Ali) interpretations. However, in a few instances I have used Yusuf Ali translation, however I checked them with other translations.

Therefore, some verses are not relative in regard to Sunni believes (i.e. me) and mean nothing to me.
