Reader comment on item: Converts to Terrorism

Submitted by Sana2 (United States), Dec 7, 2005 at 23:51

well, first of all, you are wrong about the conversion to islam start by the disbelieving in other religions. Most of the converts used to be practicing Christians, and Catholics and Jews. I mean there is converts or should i say reverts to islam that werent religious before, but that has nothing to do with it.

"No Muslim family would accept their daughter marrying out of Islam, and as for their sons, they also would be chastised"

...This is not correct, its not a matter or exception, it's against Islam for women to marry out of their religion.

"Muslim men can have 4 wives, so where is the "two shall become one" which is a holy sacrament? Ask your local pastor or priest his opinion on marrying out of faith couples."

This is also not correct. Muslim men can have UP to four wives in CERTAIN circumstances. For example, if you really want children, but your wife cant bear children...and the 4th wife must be a slave. However, of course, this is not going to happen today because:
1. There is different ways to have children. i.e. Adoption
2. Polygamy is against the law in the United States, and Islam states that one must abide by the rules of the country that they are living in.

"Time for families to be "responsible" for their children. Education begins at home. Sadly, some of us learn the painful way. One cannot live regrets, but one can spare others, with their knowledge...."

Totally agree with you. I think that if everyone practiced their religion, it would be for the common good. Yousef Qaradawi stated, " Non-Muslim Americans should like practicing Muslims because they refrain from the corrupt things that are occuring today." and i bet it's the same with Christians and Jews.
