To Moon: Double What?

Reader comment on item: British Opinion Surveys from an Islamist Hell

Submitted by Daisy (United States), Jul 27, 2005 at 18:35

Moon, as for " I can just call it double standard policy from west" you could do that if the different actions you're referring to were standardized or equivalent. But they are not.

In no way is the murder of people traveling to work on commuter trains or planes; or, for that matter going to work or school in NYC or Washington DC, Europe, India, Africa, Russia or Israel or Indonesia, Afghanistan or the Middle East (to name only some of the places Islamist attacks have taken place) the same as the death of people in a legitimately declared war.

What exactly is "totally unfair" about expecting Muslims to see the link between lenient Muslim opinion of terrorism and the actions of terrorists that has been shown in the poll central to this discussion?

What exactly is "totally unfair" about expecting responsible action from the Muslim community? Clearly, terror bombing is a phenomena that an unhealthy % of your community feels sympathy with. Most pointedly: Muslims, As A Group, Must Do Something To Stop Bad Muslims From Doing What They Do. This is really not complicated is it? You say you condemn and then go on to point out supposed "double standards". But, even if your condemnation is heartfelt or consistent , you Do Nothing.

What exactly do you think Westerners are dying for in Iraq and Afghanistan? And why aren't you, as a member of Western society, not aligned to what is good for Western society?

In advance, if you choose to respond, please do not quote the Koran. Please speak from your own mind/heart.
