Sharon's move

Reader comment on item: Ariel Sharon's Folly

Submitted by jack adams (United States), Apr 12, 2005 at 00:08

You can't keep moving the bar like this on the resettlement issue. If you now want to get into the ethnic issue, you can do so, but it doesn't help your cause. My grandparents lost their farm (in the family for almost 200 years) in upstate NY to make room for a shopping center which was to be owned by the Oneida Indians, who were not only given title to the center, but continue to expand their Casino. My grandparents were white, and the Oneida's who claimed the land after NY took it over sure looked mostly white to me. The Oneida property adjacent to the shopping center was not taken by the state. A pure case of "ethnic cleansing" in Upstate NY.
