Sharon and the settlementsReader comment on item: Ariel Sharon's Folly Submitted by Nora Amrani (United States), Apr 5, 2005 at 22:22 I agree with your assessment of Sharon's premiership. It is very sad that those who settled in Gaza, with beautiful homes on the sea, are now forced to rapidly abandon them and give them to those who sought to murder them (and of course did succeed in murdering many Israelis). I stand behind something I've said for years: name me other nations who had to give land back that they won in war, out of blackmail and with no promise for peace? Is there any other besides Israel? It is tragic that the Israelis have to leave what they created and they are being shipped out to desolate places to live - hardly an equalled existence to what they presently have. Sharon did not handle this well at all.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
