My Chabad Rabbi, who is acquainted with Mr. Bush personally, is in agreement with Dr. Pipes. As he said, when I asked him what he thought about the alleged pressure by the USA, "Israel does what it wants."

The nonsense is Israel's doing, and it's a very clever bit of P.R. that they have everyone convinced that the USA is the bully, here. By hiding behind the appearance of victimhood, they duck the burden of accountability for their actions.

I look forward to Dr. Pipes' in depth analysis of this point.
