Let's stop shooting ourselves in the foot

Reader comment on item: Why Revoke Tariq Ramadan's U.S. Visa?

Submitted by S.F.Gohara, M.D. (United States), Aug 27, 2004 at 08:09

I believe that the presence of Tariq Ramadan in the USA will serve as a focus that will attract the Moslem fundamentalists in the USA and help them organize their dangerous activities easier and better.

Although I believe that no one should be punished for another man's crimes, Mr. Ramadan's maternal grand father, Hassan el Banna, the founder of the Moslem Brotherhood, is as responsible about the sufferings and the killings that we see taking place in our world today thanks to the organization he founded. El Banna is as responsible for every terrorism victim as Hitler was responsible for the Nazi crimes.

This reason is, of course, in addition to the other excellent reasons that Dr. Daniel Pipes exposed as possible rationales in denying Mr. Ramadan admission to the country that was targeted by the September 11, 2001 attackers, and which continues to live under their threat.

We in the West should stop shooting ourselves in the foot. I suggest that a Christian theologian teaches the course that this man was supposed to teach in the Catholic university of Notre Dame. ..
