legitimacy wins such a warReader comment on item: Must Counterinsurgency Wars Fail? Submitted by the libertine (United States), Oct 1, 2008 at 17:48 first of all, ... analysts should not spread fear about an insurgency in the united states. if an intifada occured in the u.s., it could not possibly go far, but is sure to succeed in israel simply because arabs have been the prevailing occupiers of the entire region, or in other words there is an overwhelming number of inhabitants in the region who favor the idea of a traditionally arab dominant levant. its certain that israel does not possess resources to permanently drive the arabs away or win them over to the idea of a jewish state. the conditions in the u.s. are simply not there and will probably never be ripe for successful islamic insurgency. the memory of arab/islamic domination in the levant is too recent and likely to remain strong as it had since the 7th century. israelis have time, history, and population against them, however, the islamist has these factors against him in the u.s. contrary to bush, fighten' em 'over here' is all we can do. eventually i hope the levant discovers real classical liberalism combined with decreased enthusiasm religious-racial identity. if israel fails do not stay and die for it, make a good life in u.s. where civil rights of jews can become an unwavering guarantee.
