"fighting terrorism"

Reader comment on item: Must Counterinsurgency Wars Fail?

Mr Pipes...excellent article...I am no military expert, but I always maintained (in this fight against Islamic terrorism) is being fought all wrong. Your term "non-nation States" says it all. We, USA and Allies, could have made Bin Laden and the Taliban, and Saddam's life miserable without sending large amounts of troops. With modern technology, air strikes, special forces, and assination groups, I think the Israeli General Amidror has it right. Unless we change our war tactics..as the movie lady said..."it's going to be a bumpy ride" for our Western Civilization.

I enjoy your columns. Be well.
