Is being a Muslim President a problem?

Reader comment on item: Was Barack Obama a Muslim?
in response to reader comment: The President must never be "of Islam."

Submitted by concerned citizen (United States), Mar 3, 2008 at 15:52

Not most of the time, but during a time when half the Muslim world has declared a Jihad(spelling) on the United States it probably could be a little risky. Especially, since it is well known that Osama bin Laden takes Muslin children under his wing at birth and grooms them for attacks against the US. Things are scary enough for us during this crazy time, we don't need this kind of stuff right now.

Let Obama be out there and around for a few years, do some things that let's the American people get to know him , earn their trust, not just say "trust me". Then maybe there wont be dark shadows in our minds when we hear negatives about him. I don't think I'm ready to trust him yet.
