Obama's first name

Reader comment on item: Was Barack Obama a Muslim?
in response to reader comment: what if Sen. Obama's first name IS NOT "Barack" in the original ?

Your reference from wikipedia is really bad. ...

The author wrote (and I will transliterate): Arabic , alif lam beh with a damma reh alif and qaf, or al-Buraaq meaning the lighting)

This is not true. The word lighting in Arabic is: al-barq (al-barq wa al-ra3d or lighting and thunder) the two words al-buraaq and al-barq might look and sound similar but they are very diffrent words

The word al-Buraaq is not an Arabic word. It is most likely Persian and it is supposed to be the mythical animal that transported Muhammad on his so called night journey.

Now Obama's first name is Barack which is clear to me that it is from the Arabic word blessing or baraka and it is not from barq or buraaq

I hope that I helped
