Reader comment on item: Arab-Israeli Fatalities Rank 49th
in response to reader comment: challenge

Rebecca,

I was commenting on a malady that devastates the unchurched. Now, as for faith, yes it is necessary. Why? Because not everything can be defined. So, the size of the gulf between faith and logic depends on what needs to be done.

To turn your first point around, a religion is identified by the actions of its adherants. Now, there are true adherants, and then there are those who just lay claim to the label. This isn't the only place where I comment on Jew-Arab relations, for there are articles that appear at the Jerusalem Post which invite responses, and my name can be found there.

To set the record straight, the Jews refer to 'living in shalom' as the epitome of their faith. That can be used, for the faithful Jew, to size up a person's on-going process to become who they were originally created to be. Man's inhumanity to man works against that, and this is a very real poison that afflicts those who follow the cribbed notes of a heretical monk to justify man's inhumanity to man when the first one's stormed out of the Arabian Peninsula 1400 years ago.

As for the Arab, C.S. Lewis wrote about the yardstick in the essay, "the way", which is part of the Abolition of Man. That is the yardstick the Arab can use to determine if they are progressing in the right direction to become who they were originally created to be. I hope this is clearer than mud.
