Dear Infidel,

Are you sure you are not mixing between Islam itself and the mentality of some people who were born to Muslim parents but who do not themselves comprehend the spirit of Islam? You are quoting what someone (who is this, by the way?) in 2006?! To me, what you are saying sounds like the European position against Christianity in response to wrong practices on part of the Catholic priests. It also sounds like Sunni arguments against Shiites! Human beings are the same everywhere. I hope that we -as humans in general- learn from our mistakes.

I am really curious about your thoughts after you've visited this part of the world. I am not defending anyone. Muslims themselves are sometimes appalled by what some so-called (other) Muslims say or do. Even among Sunnis (or Shiites) you will find differences between people. They are not ALL the same! Wahhabis are a different story but personally I don't rule out dealing with them, either. I believe that each of God's creations has something to offer (other than barbarism:-)) and sometimes we have to look deeper to find it. It's gratifying, believe me. You won't feel you've wasted your time or energy.

How would you feel about some of the wrong ideas some people here hold about your part of the world? Wouldn't you think if they came here and knew us personally they wouldn't think that? Or would you say: "They are right. I am ..... (whatever it is that people would think about you when they are thinking of you for one or two seconds and decide on an image for you from the other side of the world)!"?
