Islam the religion vs. Islamist Extremists

Reader comment on item: Debate in London: Radical Islam vs. Civilization

Submitted by George Roberts (United States), Feb 2, 2007 at 21:12

Mr. Pipes says this is not a war against Islam the religion. Then, he says that the solution is: "... the emergence of Islam that is modern, moderate, democratic, humane, liberal, and good neighborly. And that it is respectful of women, homosexuals, atheists, whoever else. One that grants non-Muslims equal rights with Muslims."

That, Mr. Pipes IS "Islam the religion" that you are talking about. It is Islam the religion that subjugates women, and would execute or banish non-believers. Would you have us believe that the entire country of Saudi Arabia is Islamist?

We need to start facing facts and talking truth. Islam (the religion) is at war with us. So, it naturally follows that we are at war with Islam. It is of no basic consequence that only the so called extremists carry out the terror attacks. The financial and community support behind them is spread throughout the Islamic world.
