Dear Martin,

I just read your artýcle...a little bit late....

I am a Turkish and agnostlc in belief. In my country ,there is an increasing presence of headcovering women. Actually they do not express their cultural merits openly. Unfortunately.,this group of Turks have become disullisioned between their traditional Anatolian-Turkish culture and Islamic, rather to say Arabic culture due to Ýslam religion. This situation has caused a kind of life here which could not create a happy and free life since the Ýslamic rules have been implemented in social law till 1928 and life in practice.

In general terms,Islamic belief is not open to evaulate, improvement and changes. In fact, every event or thought are tried to be explained by spiritual reasons -in one way or another, in Ýslamic world. Some imperative changes in interpreting Quoran verses do not give helpfull and practice result for betterment of the lives.Actually there is a lot of discrepancies in Quoran to understand and accept. For example,Quoran says that this book has been sent to all humankind but supports slavery and indeed prophet Muhammed had slaves .

Even so, he has married the wife of his own slave named Zeyd after Zeyd divorced his wife. Even this case does not push believers to try explaining it logically since muhammed has desired this woman and one hadis(verse) has arrived for it to allow muhammed to have this woman. In other words, the person who is accepted as being the most model and holy humanbeing ever lived and selected by God has acted with ordinary human behavior. and this does not give any hesitation or doubt to Muslims about their wiev for muhammed^s deeds and model life.. .

.In summary, rest of the world has to see of what kind of Islamic world they are facing and difficulty in cooperation with this world in sensible way.
