Reader comment on item: Europe under Siege

i found walter's post to be extremely accurate. of the countries he mentioned, lets look at south africa. although the west righteously railed against apartheid, its usual shortsightedness didnt bother to contemplate what would happen after white rule was relinquished. lets look in particular at the most overrated man of the 20th century, nelson mandella. mr mandella is neither a hero nor does he have any skills in the art of democracy. mr mandella was not jailed by the apartheid government because he was black, he was jailed because he was a communist.

he headed a group called the african national congress which was nothing but a marxist group and a proxy for the soviet union in southern africa. upon his release from prison he was elected president of south africa. it is no surprise that a man with no experience in democracy or market economies would squander any wealth that south africa had accunulated. and the man hasnt changed a bit. a couple of years ago he assailed the united states as the biggest terrorist state on earth because we didnt get the 15 billion dollars in aid we promised to combat aids fast enough for him. my point is that it should come as no surprise that south africans are fleeing for europe. they gained their freedom but the communist mandella did nothing to enhance their economic capabilities. until the governments of africa are trained to deal with the realities of modern economics and stop backing impassioned idiots like mendella, the influx of african refugees will continue unabated for the foreseeable future.

thank you
