Since Dr Pipes thinks that the 'historic culture' of Europe is under threat from increased immigration, does he disagree with successive US governments all of whom have supported Turkey's bid for membership of the EU? This would add another 68 million people who might not conform to Dr Pipes's idea of Europe's 'historic culture'.

I think we in Europe would be stupid to reject so important a country as Turkey, although obviously Russia would be much too big.
