Well not exactly so. In those times, the Jews were just in the "right" situation as far as the Muslims were concerned. They have already been robbed of their homeland, were powerless, and absolutely at their mercy. In contrast to the present, when Jews managed to return to their homeland and to establish an independent Jewish State (which the Arabs are trying in vain to destroy since even before it has been established), in those times in the 10th century the Jews were a non-issue from the Arab point of view.

And since by their refusal to bow in to the Arab attacks, and by their very existence, the Arabs feel that the Jews have humiliated the Arab national pride, this constitutes a "crime" which is unforgivable by Arab standards.
