Reader comment on item: "[Symposium] On the Strip: Where To Go from Gaza?"

Submitted by David (United States), Jun 29, 2006 at 19:16

Had Israel listened to Rabbi Meir Kahane, she would never had been in the position she is in today. One of the problems I see with the Israeli government is that they don't want to harm innocent Palistinians. The militants know this and take advantage of the situation. When you're at war (and believe me, Israel is at war with the Islamists), when you're at war innocent people get hurt and get killed. By going after the militants who hide amongst the innocent Palistinians, that is the only way Israel will be able to kill the militants. The second thing I see in order for there to be peace Israel must re-take the Gaza Strip and drive the Palistinians out. Otherwise the enemy will continue to sneak in weapons from Eqypt.

Lastly, there should be no further talks about a Palistinian State because if you think once the Palistinians get their own state there will be peace, forget it. Once they get their foot in the door they'll do whatever it takes for as long as it takes to conquer Israel and take over the land.
