The French have attitude

Reader comment on item: What If the United States Had Not Invaded Iraq

Submitted by Nidra Poller (France), Sep 18, 2005 at 16:41

Even if America had not invaded Iraq, relations with France would have drastically deteriorated in the wake of Katrina. I might even venture to say that the hatred provoked here by American suffering is even greater than that provoked by American military action.

It's a kind of natural catastrophe reverse dhimmitude: when the jihadis strike you, you should bow your head, confess your sins, hug a Muslim, and kick an Israeli.

When natural disaster strikes, you should have known what was going to happen, every form of aid and assistance should have been waiting at appropriate staging areas (out of the path of the hurricane of course) ready to snap into action right in the eye of the hurricane, every disaster victim should have been instantly provided with a new home, job, car, mementoes...and you shouldn't have poor people, down & outers, last ditchers, or blathering fools to pose for French cameramen.

Attitude? The French have enough for themselves and the whole world twice around.
