I think this statement is not well supported by the facts. Muslim hatred of the United States is fueled by many things, as is obvious to the numerous conspiracy theories about the United States. Bin Laden's Fatwa against the United States centered on the US bases in Saudi Arabia and the Israeli-Arab conflict as well as the UN imposed no-fly zones. His appeal had long spread before the US took down Saddam.

Also, to state "European attitudes toward the United States would be improved" without the war, is ... also questionable . Europeans were upset about the US stands on they Kyoto protocol and the International Tribunal Court.
