Reader comment on item: What If the United States Had Not Invaded Iraq

If we end up with "failed state" in Iraq, the safe heaven for terorists, I don't think the above view will be very common.
Unfortunatelly idealistic US policy seem to lead right there. Instead of supporting strong natural allies in Iraq we are going for abstract "democracy" goals. This is very unlikely to have expected outcome & we will scramble at the end to support natural allies, after all that wasted time.
