Islam just like any other doctrine must be open to criticism

Dear Dr Pipes,

I agree with you. Like any other doctrine, Islam should also be criticized for its mertis and lack thereof. And as long as free criticism of Islam is not permitted, marginal insults to Islam will keep happening. The message that no one should be killed for his/her beliefs needs to appreciated by all people and custodians of Islam will have to learn this message as well.
