Reader comment on item: A Muhammad Cartoon a Day

Submitted by Ron Thompson (United States), Sep 21, 2012 at 22:04

What if all the major publications in all the major non-Muslim countries in the world decided to simultaneously publish two non-flattering and even vulgar cartoons of Mohammed every day for a month. What if this happened from Washington to Chicago to Los Angeles to Tokyo to Beijing to Hong Kong to Singapore to Bombay to Moscow to Athens to Tel Aviv (well, maybe not there) to Rome to Madrid to London to Amsterdam, and to Paris.

What are the Muslims going to do? Blow up the world? Is the violence the Muslims are indulging in right now making us weaker?, or them?

What are the possible benefits? Here's two, to start the list:

1. We would break the spell of hypnotic Dhimmitude slowly enveloping the United States and the West instead of doing the absolutely impossible – abasing ourselves trying to find ways not to "offend" rampaging Muslims while absurdly declaring at the same time that of course we're standing by our right to Free Speech. We would recover what is most under siege: our self-respect, which has been battered and compromised ever since we responded to 9/11 by declaring, 'Islam is a religion of peace' - even though we were attacked in its name.

2. We would tap into a large and possibly huge well of humanity among the many millions of Muslims that has to be there under all the craziness. That is, we would break the spell they are under too, and open the way for many of them to actually experience a feeling of freedom in their minds and hearts, instead of the demented and dead-end quest to be "slaves of allah".
