Reader comment on item: A Muhammad Cartoon a Day

Submitted by Dan (United States), Sep 24, 2012 at 14:34

Just thought I'd offer a single comment, although given the opportunity, I could probably go on all day. And I must say, I appreciate Mr. Pipes' forum and the opportunity to send in a comment.

Many muslim countries are offended by our "meddling in their internal affairs". That most countries do this to each other on a daily basis, even if surreptitiously, seems indisputable. I believe the word for this kind of activity is spying. But having said that, we should not be overt in these activities.

However, if we're to take the muslim complaint seriously, then they should not interfere in our internal affairs. "Free speech" (and not the fire in a theater variety) is a founding right in the USA, they should not lecture us on what our free speech ought or ought not to be. If they don't like it, then they should ignore it.
