Obvious course of action

Reader comment on item: A Muhammad Cartoon a Day

Submitted by Sean (United Kingdom), Sep 21, 2012 at 15:27

Printing the Muhammad cartoons on a daily basis has been the obvious course of action for a while now in order to lance this boil.

In fact extracts from The Satanic Verses should have been published on a daily basis by every British newspaper as soon as Rushdie was threatened.

I'd go so far as to say that action may well have humiliated Khomeini enough that the Iranian people would have lost all respect for him or perhaps that's wishful thinking on my part.

Actually I do feel that eventually Western newspapers will come together in solidarity given the right catalyst but we just haven't reached that point yet.
