A cover for an assassination

Whatever the origin of the disturbances in other parts of the world, is it possible that the Libyan riots were arranged to cover an assassination? According to a diary found by CNN, http://tinyurl.com/csblgnm Christopher Stevens thought he might be a target.

He was deeply involved in the overthrow of Ghadafi. He obviously knew a great deal about the players in Libya, perhaps more than was convenient for one of the groups. The location had clearly been reconnoitred, and the weaponry involved was heavy. The angry crowd may have been a tactical diversion, or arranged to camouflage the significance of the event.

The date, (like 9/11), is also significant. It is the anniversary of the Turkish defeat at the gates of Vienna in 1683.
