Islamic world must understand that US government has no control of what US people say

Dear Dr. Pipes, the protests around the Islamic world burning the US flags are absurd and meaningless. What these protesters must realize is that by granting her citizens the right to free speech, the US government has lost all control over the US citizens say. So the only way people protesting in Pakistan and the other brotherly Islamic nations can stop Muhammed from being criticized in the US is either by spending Saudi Money to amend the US constitution (that will be very expensive and probably impossible) or intimidate every US citizen to become silent (that will be even more expensive and even more impossible).

A kind word of advice to these protesters: Please use this incidence as an early inocculation. Because all people like to speak freely (even muslims) and in a few years from now, as education and freedom spreads, these hurtful questions will come not from some crazy US felons but from inquisitive Saudi teenagers who have studied Plato, Socrates, Marx, Kant, Russel, and Krishnamurty. Get used to open discussion and criticism because it will come your way like a tsunami.
