An Act of cowardice

Reader comment on item: The Swiss Ban on Minarets: A Possible Turning Point

Submitted by Raja (Canada), Dec 1, 2009 at 11:01

The banning of Minarets is clearly an act of cowardice. Does not the Swiss have other issues to deal with like abuse of clergy, mental illness, poverty and more then to focus on the construciton of minarets. It seems like the Swiss have become insecure of their faith and values when in contrast with Muslims. It seems that Swiss are not as tolerant as thought of. The values of multiculturaism and tolerance is just on paper and does not refect the reality. That is why the Bosnian massacre - the largest religious genocide in Europe of indigenous Muslims since World War II. The Europeans were then indecisive to deal with the militant Orthodox Serbs who raped, killed and tortured thousands of Bosnian Muslims. Today there are Christian minorities in Middle East like Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Egypt.....where are Muslims that once lived in Europe...llike Spain, Italy and Crete! The hypocrisy of Christian and atheist Europe is now clearly evident.
