PC Blindness

I see the examples you've provided as one more proof of how our culture's PC blindness is allowing our political and security officials to continue to avoid the obvious. We in the West are in a period of increasingly strident attacks from the militant Islamic world. The "Sword of Islam," as it is called, is being unsheathed once again and increasingly being used against those of us it considers Infidels. It's just a matter of time before this hatred and insanity arms itself with chemical, biological or nuclear weapons and begins to kill us wholesale. What will our erstwhile leaders say then? Will they ignore the religious and cultural identity of these killers as they did for the terrrorists on 9/11? As we all know, on 9/11 15 of the terrorists were Saudi Arabian citizens but no formal apology has ever been offered from the Saudi Arabian king or his administration -- just a lot of lame excuses. President Bush attacked Afghanistan and correctly toppled the Taliban government there as retailation for 9/11 but the truth is that Afghanistan was no more the root of the problem than Vietnam was back in the 60's. The enemy lives in Riyadh today just as he once resided in Moscow a generation ago. No amount of trying to finesse the facts will change this reality. His educational, cultural and religious institutions have been filling his and the rest of the Islamic world's children's heads with hatred and belligerence toward the rest of non-Muslim humanity for several generations now. The present and future conflict is the bitter fruit of these policies and until they are reversed, the war will go on and on, growing even more intense as this dense " underbrush" of incitement fuels the flames.
