Why is Israel doing what it is doing?

Why is Israel intervening in Gaza and invading it with tanks? Let them slug it out, like tweedledee and tweedledum. Meanwhile it lets in the Palestinians into Israel and gives American $ to Fatah still.

Any western country giving any aid to Palestinians is wasting their citizen's $ and helping expand a Palestinian population that is way too large. Let the US agree not to give a cent to Israel and any Muslim country in gifts and Israel will be better off.
