idiot savantReader comment on item: Two Palestines, Anyone? Submitted by jan lapter (Poland), Jun 19, 2007 at 14:13 This is what I found when I clicked on the link you've provided: Definition of Autistic savant Autistic savant: A person with autism who is exceptionally gifted in a specialized field. That field may, for example, be mathematics. The autistic savant may be able to do rapid, complex mental calculations. Or the field may be music. The autistic savant may be able to perform a entire piece of music after hearing it only once. The term "autistic savant" has replaced the old term "idiot savant," which is perjorative and imprecise. A savant (from the French savoir, to know) is a sage, a learned person. ...and it is so fitting the whole issue of Pal-Israel conflict.I find your comments absolutely essential to understanding that the resolution of it lies not in euphemisms so readily employed by politicians but in essentially simple math work: something for something, not something for nothing, as the Palestinians and their politically correct allies in the West are thinking.
