Tactics, anyone?Reader comment on item: Two Palestines, Anyone? Submitted by Jascha Kessler (United States), Jun 19, 2007 at 16:10 The tactical step Daniel Pipes does not broach, in foreseeing the Gazan "Hamastan" is the choice that Olmert the Weak will not make, nor will Barak the Bold: i.e., the prompt cutting off of water and power to Gaza, combined with blockade at sea. Cruel? The Gazans elected Hamas democratically. Are there no consequences for Arab folly after decades of dependence on the West for cash and arms, and little else? Welfare culture is too mild a term for it. Perhaps Israel is not yet cornered; but the signs are not good, especially for as long as an impotent government refuses to step down from its rather desperate clutch on power...perhaps because there are still some laws in Israel and the leaders of Kadima will be subject, rather subjected, to investigation and possible tough prosecution and even trial?
