Isn't it a bit lemmingish at this point for Jews to be emigrating to Israel?Reader comment on item: Europeans Fleeing Eurabia Submitted by traeh (United States), Apr 7, 2007 at 03:26 Gives no joy to say this, but going to live in Israel seems suicidal, as nukes and other WMD show signs of imminent proliferation among Muslims. I guess I tend to agree with Benny Morris' pessimistic prognostication of Israel's future. And I'm torn between thinking Israel should never give up, and thinking all the Jews should emigrate to us here in the U.S. or to some other country that seems likely to survive for at least a while. The Jews are beginning to remind me a little of the ancient Greeks at Thermopylae. How long can the little nation hold off the much larger power of the Persians? And aren't the Persians soon to find "the way around the other side of the Thermopylae pass" -- i.e., won't they have nukes soon, and then won't Israel end up as the Spartans at Thermopylae ended? Glorious for all time, but destroyed? Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
