Reader comment on article: How to End Terrorism[: With Moderate Islam]
in response to reader comment: ...sue?

Submitted by susan (Italy), Dec 31, 2006 at 09:01

"susan, it's already a FACT that there are poor people in America, it's been PROVEN, so why argue?"

not because the system doesn't let them prosper. Ever heard of the american dream? is there such a thing like a philipino dream? or a pakistani dream?

That's probably why america is the n. 1 destination, because everybody wants to be poor. Good logic...

"I'm not using GDP to judge countries. That would be you. If we used GDP to judge countries, even countries with many poor people, like the US, would seem rich. The measure I use is average per-capita income, which is a far more accurate measurement of a country's economic welfare, if you believe, as I do (and of course you don't because you are selfish) that everyone should have at least a comfortable standard of living."

everybody should have according to what they are able to produce, otherwise we would have a nanny state (the state you wish) taking away from productive segments of society ( = stealing) to give to people constantly on welfare like yourself. This is wrong, also MORALLY.

"And what exactly is a "spoiled communist"?"

check dictionary.com

"Military regimes, my friends? Come on now, sue, don't just lump all the "unsavories" as my friends. We all know that it's the US historically, which supported these right-wing authoritarian military regimes, choosing to ignore their totalitarianism because they were anti-communist. Suharto, Pinochet, Marcos, and others. You can't deny this...I'd like to see you slither out of this one."

again, don't call me sue...

So when we prop military regimes to make fascists like yourself happy, we are wrong, when we take them down like saddam we are wrong. No matter what we do, we are always wrong. You have a problem with what the west IS, not what the west does. It's reversed racism.

I'd like you slither out of this one.

"This complete falsehood has been ratted out so many times by conservatives here that I think I'll put you all in your place once and for all. "

too bad it's all true. just look at all the scientists from the religion of peace...

"Islam's Prophet Muhammad himself said that "the seeking of knowledge is the duty of every Muslim, whether man or woman." Therefore, how can the religion be against critical thinking."

when someone lowers himself so much in quoting... that's where conversion is around the corner. Sorry I am not sympathizer,,, Must be those words the reason why the most illiterate countries are muslims. Especially where women cannot go to school.

"Certainly, Islam would be no more against critical thinkking than a certain major religion which ostracized and arrested Copernicus and Galileo for claiming the blasphemy that the earth revolves around the sun. Know which religion that is?"

the same religion that doesn't murder you for leaving it. The same religion that doesn't behave like a mafia family.

unfortunately for your anti-clerical and anti-western fascist and communist views, galileo was rehabilitated and didn't spend time in jail. Not only that, he had the chance to be heard from the hierarchy of the church.

Let's see the only 2 "thinkers" of the muslim world. more than a billion people and only 2 thinkers...

Averroes and Avicenna.

His most important original philosophical work was The Incoherence of the Incoherence (Tahafut al-tahafut), in which he defended Aristotelian philosophy against al-Ghazali's claims in The Incoherence of the Philosophers (Tahafut al-falasifa), himself arguing against the earlier Aristotelian, Avicenna, that it was self-contradictory and an affront to the teachings of Islam.

Avicenna: Meanwhile, he had written to Abu Ya'far, the prefect of the dynamic city of Isfahan, offering his services. The new emir of Hamadan, hearing of this correspondence and discovering where Ibn Sina was hidden, incarcerated him in a fortress.

So let's sum up: Galileo had the chance to perform free thinking and later was ostracised.

Those 2 thinkers, one didn't even go further, because it contradicted the diktats of islam, and the other was INCARCERATED TOO!

So much for the critical thinking allowed by islam.

"What is strange about this picture? I already said I'm grateful to those people, and then you say I'm not?"

you are an ungrateful 3rd worlders. We should re-think on how we waste our money for people like you.

"No, you're ignorant, but you're just really arrogant. But what can I do?"

too bad you cannot dispute what I wrote on islam's lack of critical thinking and free expression. Too bad an "ignorant " knows more about the fanatic cult than yourself.

"I never mentioned the Church, I'm referring to the US government's aid program. I don't know whether you're starting to have hallucinations or whatever."

so you think your poor country lives on US gvrnmt aid only?

No $$$ from church and secular organization not belonging to governments?

Sorry , you suck so much money you have no idea.

"I wouldn't call on the US for help. I'm not emigrating to the US or anywhere else for that matter."

You? let's see next time a flood happens in your country, last time I checked you survive thanks to western aid, ungrateful spoiled brat.

"And another thing. You seem to still be laboring under the delusion that the US is still popular in the Philippines. They are not. Not only Muslim Filipinos but even Christian ones such as myself are anti-US, which ought to put your belief that only Muslims dislike the US in its place, the garbage can."

LOL

Five countries accounted for 39 percent of immigrants:

· Mexico (173,919), The People's Republic of China (45,652), Philippines (42,474), India (42,046), and Vietnam (26,747).

No comment . You think you are talking FOR your country, while I do suppose philipino people are decent ones, unlike yourself.

"Filipinos just needed the "Subic rape case" where US Marine Lance Corporal Daniel Smith was found guilty and sentenced to 40 years in jail in the Philippines, by a Filipino court, to show that US involvement in our country is doing more harm than good. susan, you should be proud of your rapist countrymen. These are the people who are fighting for freedom and democracy all over the world. Yeah. Right."

he is sentenced and in jail for 40 years, what are you whining about? Do you think philipino people around the world NEVER engage in criminal activity?

Andrew Cunanan, the murderer of Gianni Versace was originally from your country!

"Where do you get off spouting falsehoods and half-truths like this? Yes, Ethiopia and other African countries (Chad, Angola, etc.) have received billions in aid, especially since the G8 meeting that decided to give greater focus to Africa. What you conveniently neglected to mention is that Israel has still received billions more, then and now."

what's wrong with that? israel gave more scientists and discoveries to the world that the whole 3rd world combined? what's wrong with muslim apoligists anti-semitic like yourself?

If you want you can give the whole philippines to muslims, but Israel belongs to jews. That land belongs to them. The muslims have the rest of the middle east that is all sand and poverty. NO money in the world is able to turn the muslim lands into what it's israel now.

"Only someone like you believes this. Take off your rose-colored glasses, as well as the huge log in your eye, so that you can see better."

I know you were siding with hitler and the muslims, I am not. I'd rather keep 20 million jews than a person like yourself.

"Hey, many countries, including the Philippines, have good relations with Israel. I am not anti-Semitic as you claim, I don't hate Jews in general, but I do believe that the Palestinians have the right to form their own state, comprised by the West Bank, West Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. I am against Israeli attempts to deny them this, as well as Israel's many war crimes aginst the Palestinian people and complete disregard for international law. But hey, since they're the "chosen people", they hardly have to concern themseves with such mundane things as laws made by humans. Tee hee."

only a leftist and a muslim apologist like yourself can believe the lies of the muslim propaganda. There is NO palestine. There was no muslim/arabs on that land. AS admitted by muslim leaders.

Let us hear what other Arabs have said:

"There is no such country as Palestine. 'Palestine' is a term the Zionists invented. There is no Palestine in the Bible. Our country was for centuries part of Syria. 'Palestine' is alien to us. It is the Zionists who introduced it".

- Auni Bey Abdul-Hadi, Syrian Arab leader to British Peel Commission, 1937 -

"There is no such thing as Palestine in history, absolutely not".

- Professor Philip Hitti, Arab historian, 1946 -

"It is common knowledge that Palestine is nothing but Southern Syria".

- Representant of Saudi Arabia at the United Nations, 1956 -

What other Arabs declared after the Six-Day War:

"There are no differences between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. We are all part of one nation. It is only for political reasons that we carefully underline our Palestinian identity... yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity serves only tactical purposes. The founding of a Palestinian state is a new tool in the continuing battle against Israel".

- Zuhair Muhsin, military commander of the PLO and member of the PLO Executive Council -

"You do not represent Palestine as much as we do. Never forget this one point: There is no such thing as a Palestinian people, there is no Palestinian entity, there is only Syria. You are an integral part of the Syrian people, Palestine is an integral part of Syria. Therefore it is we, the Syrian authorities, who are the true representatives of the Palestinian people".

- Syrian dictator Hafez Assad to the PLO leader Yassir Arafat -

There was NO PALESTINIAN PEOPLE in GALILEE up until israel was created,...

"There is not a solitary village throughout its whole extent (valley of Jezreel, Galilea); not for thirty miles in either direction... One may ride ten miles hereabouts and not see ten human beings. For the sort of solitude to make one dreary, come to Galilee... Nazareth is forlorn... Jericho lies a mouldering ruin... Bethlehem and Bethany, in their poverty and humiliation... untenanted by any living creature... A desolate country whose soil is rich enough, but is given over wholly to weeds... a silent, mournful expanse... a desolation... We never saw a human being on the whole route... Hardly a tree or shrub anywhere. Even the olive tree and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil had almost deserted the country... Palestine sits in sackcloth and ashes... desolate and unlovely...".

- Mark Twain, "The Innocents Abroad", 1867 -

"In 1590 a 'simple English visitor' to Jerusalem wrote: 'Nothing there is to beseyne but a little of the old walls, which is yet remayning and all the rest is grasse, mosse and weedes much like to a piece of rank or moist grounde'.".

- Gunner Edward Webbe, Palestine Exploration Fund,
Quarterly Statement, p. 86; de Haas, History, p. 338 -

"The land in Palestine is lacking in people to till its fertile soil".

- British archaeologist Thomas Shaw, mid-1700s -

"Palestine is a ruined and desolate land".

- Count Constantine François Volney, XVIII century French author and historian -

"The Arabs themselves cannot be considered but temporary residents. They pitched their tents in its grazing fields or built their places of refuge in its ruined cities. They created nothing in it. Since they were strangers to the land, they never became its masters. The desert wind that brought them hither could one day carry them away without their leaving behind them any sign of their passage through it".

- Comments by Christians concerning the Arabs in Palestine in the 1800s -

"Then we entered the hill district, and our path lay through the clattering bed of an ancient stream, whose brawling waters have rolled away into the past, along with the fierce and turbulent race who once inhabited these savage hills. There may have been cultivation here two thousand years ago. The mountains, or huge stony mounds environing this rough path, have level ridges all the way up to their summits; on these parallel ledges there is still some verdure and soil: when water flowed here, and the country was thronged with that extraordinary population, which, according to the Sacred Histories, was crowded into the region, these mountain steps may have been gardens and vineyards, such as we see now thriving along the hills of the Rhine. Now the district is quite deserted, and you ride among what seem to be so many petrified waterfalls. We saw no animals moving among the stony brakes; scarcely even a dozen little birds in the whole course of the ride".

- William Thackeray in "From Jaffa To Jerusalem", 1844 -

"The country is in a considerable degree empty of inhabitants and therefore its greatest need is of a body of population".

- James Finn, British Consul in 1857 -

"The area was underpopulated and remained economically stagnant until the arrival of the first Zionist pioneers in the 1880's, who came to rebuild the Jewish land. The country had remained "The Holy Land" in the religious and historic consciousness of mankind, which associated it with the Bible and the history of the Jewish people. Jewish development of the country also attracted large numbers of other immigrants - both Jewish and Arab. The road leading from Gaza to the north was only a summer track suitable for transport by camels and carts... Houses were all of mud. No windows were anywhere to be seen... The plows used were of wood... The yields were very poor... The sanitary conditions in the village [Yabna] were horrible... Schools did not exist... The rate of infant mortality was very high... The western part, toward the sea, was almost a desert... The villages in this area were few and thinly populated. Many ruins of villages were scattered over the area, as owing to the prevalence of malaria, many villages were deserted by their inhabitants".

- The report of the British Royal Commission, 1913 -

"Interesting! First you keep going on about how poor all Middle Eastern countries are, then now you imply that Saudi Arabia is a rich country? Which is it, sue? Or do you only use facts when they're convenient?"

Oil,... we PAY for oil.

Saudi arabia is earning money, then they are still drinking camel piss, but that's another matter.

"Changing the topic, another conservative tactic of desperation. You still didn't respond directly to my statement, that freedom alone will not make everybody rich, or even comfortable."

then take away freedom, silly boy

"Don't make excuses, don't try to change the topic when you can't answer, just admit you lost. "

here's a photo for you. Dedicated to you. A silly boy that thinks he's "owning" people on the internet.

http://www.clint.ca/argue/argue.jpg

"Interesting how you "know" so much about me. Do you maybe have a crystal ball stashed there, or something, so you can see just what I do in my daily life?"

living off welfare and dreaming about the caliphate, your nanny state of choice

"On the other hand, judging by the number of your posts here, it seems as though you spend all your time on this site. Maybe you're unemployed?"

I am self-employed, a kind of job that nostalgic communist fans of the nanny state cannod even conceive. I work on assigned project and I am chosen because I am better than others. I don't work every day 9-5 like you lovers of the nanny state.

"I want a government that will control the excessive power of the rich"

nanny state that steals to the rich (that are bad by definition like WHITE MEN) and gives to the people on welfare like yourself.

"Where's a country where your system is working properly. Tell me one country where the capitalist system produced prosperity for everyone, then criticize me about "underling" that sentence."

every western country is more prosperous than any communist country. Communism has failed and produced poverty, but you are too stupid to admit it. The rest of western world, where your fellow country men are moving EN MASSE can produce wealth. But not for the lazy asses, communist nostalgic, idiots . Stay in the philippines and write on the internet about how you OWN people.

"Go ahead, withdraw the aid. I don't want it, and we can live without it."

ridiculous, can we withdraw also penicillin and all the medicines invented by non-philipino people?

"I'll tell you something though - believe it or not, the US needs us more than we need them. Go ahead, laugh and scoff at it, but it's true."

yes, watch the USA collapse if poweful philipines with a silly boy nostalgic communist and muslim apologist turn their backs!

"The reason is because I want people to know that there are many reasons people would turn to terrorism in this day and age, and contrary to what Bush and his minions want us to think, they are not all religious, even in the case of Muslims. There are also political and economic reasons, that they believe to be injustices, that's why they turn to violent terrorism."

it's the hatred in their koran. The muslims have been waging war against anything that's not muslim since 7th century , years before america even existed, you silly boy, but your lack of knowledge of history (gates of vienna, poitiers, battle of grenada) makes you a total ignorant.

What was the political and economic reasons for pedo-prophet muhammned to decapitate the jews of kaybar because they refused to convert to the cult of death? Please tell me anti-semitic muslim apologist.

Did Jesus try to mutilate somebody because he didn't convert? Please tell me silly boy ...

"I know what Bush said, that "you're either with us or against us", but I don't care about that, and I'm neutral. "

usually neutrals are just cowards, and you are one of those.

If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem

and indeed people like yourself are THE PROBLEM
