Mr. Pipes,

When I read this article, I found it interesting and engaging (as I usually do), but I also noticed something else. I noticed that the respondent comments were more unified than usual. I found them to be decidely in the negative to your proposed solution... Is this just me, or has there been a cementing of perceptions on Islam generally?

Can you respond to this observation?

Yes, there has been a substantial move toward the Islam-is-evil point of view in the West during the past 2-3 years. I have addressed this a number of times and plan to do so repeatedly in the future.
