Islam, criminality and selfishness.

Reader comment on item: How to End Terrorism:

Submitted by Kingsley Beattie (Canada), Dec 5, 2006 at 11:38

Selfishness is an excessive and destructive expression of self-interest. I would suggest that robbing banks for money, and killing infidels for paradise, are both criminal and selfish.

I appreciate your search for "moderate" Islam; however, Islam is the Koran and the Hadiths. Given that the Koran is the eternally valid expression of the will of an omniscient deity, one would find it difficult to amend/change clearly espressed orders from Allah, without becoming an apostate and eroding the respect and faith a Muslim must have in the Koran.

There is no room for Unitarianism in Islam and, sadly, no end to conflict until we are all Muslims (of the correct sect); or, the true believers lose their faith. That is not likely to happen in our lifetimes.

I would like to thank you for your invaluable efforts in informing the public of the problems the rest of the world faces with Islam.

Kingsley
