Money, Money, MoneyReader comment on item: A Nike e o 11 de Setembro Submitted by Rick House (United States), Sep 21, 2006 at 23:14 Should we add money to the equation. No, I think not. Too many Americans think of the nation's debt as this huge sword ready to sweep down and destroy America and end the world as they know it. Our debt is barely three quarters of our yearly income. Personally, I know people that owe a larger percentage of their yearly income on their car. No, our debt is not something we should be worried about. If we must consider money in the equation, let us look to who wants to spend what we got where. Republicans that support the war want the money spent abroad through our allies and US companies with necessary expertise. Democrats want the money spent on the homefront. They harp on money needed for port defense, airport monitors, cameras in subways, beefed up defense of infrastructure. These are all places that have a huge union presence. Most of their focus for spending the money is in the blue states. No, Infidel. It's all about politics. The reality is both parties will spend what it takes to get elected. It's the American way. If you want to worry about something, worry about the lack of statesmenship in the American political scene. Statesmen died in America when political science was adopted at colleges and universities.
