Did 9/11 change us - too simplisticReader comment on item: A Nike e o 11 de Setembro Submitted by Gunther Schiff (United States), Sep 11, 2006 at 17:33 In the first place, I agree that the right wing and neocon groups did immediately mobilize against the new and very real threat of militant Islamm - but so did many other peope who are not hard core right wingers. This country, which still contains people of various political and religious leanings is not so easily or properly divided into liberal and conservative - especially where the term liberal becomes a term idenfified with a lack of patriotism and a lack of guts to take on the terrorists. We have in this country a wide swath of views on politics, economics, and religion. To simply characterize the "liberals" whoever they may be -they are apparently people who differ with the neocons and religious right Patriots as sunk in the trances of La La Land is not only unfair, it is plain wrong. It should be sufficient to characterize those with other views from your own and "persons with a different view" and they are not all alilke.
