A Slight Atonement

Dear Howie, first of all, apologies if you took personal offence at my comments. It wasn't meant to be an attack on you. I was actually responding to a number of comments made by several people on the site, and as such, shouldn't have addressed them to you alone.

Actually, although i am a left-leaning muslim, i completely agree with what you said. To me, this highlights the sorry state of American politics today; a person is either a liberal or a conservative, with very little room in between. Both your government and mine have been shown up to be led by leaders who think nothing of lying to their respective electorate, from the WMD fiasco, to the unholy mess that is Guantanamo. It would be interesting to hear what you think about my comments both previous and now.

In case you got the wrong idea, i'm not a yank-hating muslim; my wife is from the US as is most of my family on my father's side. Curiously, while vsiting the US, i have noticed that the muslim community is a lot more well-integrated there than is the case in the UK, even though we have been in this country for 3 generations now.
