Can anyone realistically expect India to join forces with the rest of the Western world in fighting Islamic terror? I see Indians playing a double game. As founders of the non-aligned movement, they speak out against US hegemony or imperialism or whatever the word of the day is, at the same time seeking Western investment and American jobs.

I'm afraid India has too much to lose by joining the West in the fight against Islamic terror. It would mean taking sides with America and that would be inconsistent with being non-aligned. Better to sit on the sidelines and blame the US whenever something goes wrong. There's just one problem: if India will not join the fight now, there's no guarantee anyone will be left to help India when its turn comes.

The cold war is over. The US and Russia are no longer competing for dominance. The non-aligned countries need to decide what that means. In today's struggle, either you are willing to condemn Islamic terrorism or you're not. There's no middle ground here. Whether you're silent (non-aligned) or you applaud, the message is the same: Osama, keep doing what you're doing.
