"Battle of Words"

Reader comment on item: Palestinian Word Games

Submitted by William Palomo (United States), Jan 19, 2005 at 13:58

In terms of the battle of words, we, the supporters of Israel, have perhaps won the most important battle. Murderers of innocents are almost universally referred to as "terrorists" and not some euphemism such as "freedom fighter." Most importantly, since the 9/11 attacks, those Americans (and I was one of them) who referred to "suicide bombers" now use the phrase "homicide bomber." It has also become clear to many Americans that the phrase "Great Satan" applies much more fittingly to the Islamic enemies of America and Israel than to our freedom-loving countries. Que viva America and Israel!
