The State of PalestineReader comment on item: Palestinian Word Games Submitted by Seth Ginsburg (United States), Jan 4, 2005 at 14:58 Mr. Pipes:I certainly appreciate and applaud your comments, but I wanted to add something. Clearly the name "Palestine" is a geographic designation, not the name of any country, past or present. That said, if we want to refer to any nation as "Palestine," it should be the nation that comprises most of the geographical area referred to as "Palestine." That nation, of course, is Jordan. I think that, if we insist on referring to some nation as "Palestine," it should be the so-called "Jordan." This brings me to, what I see as the most logical solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict -- the assumption of the Arab-dominated parts of Judea and Sumeria by Jordan. Why do we never hear of this option? Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
