Word Games IndeedReader comment on item: Palestinian Word Games Submitted by Ross Stevens (United States), Jan 4, 2005 at 18:23 Daniel ... Excellent and extremely cogent summary of the issue(s)... as usual. The Wall Street Journal in a Front Page headline today also used the term Palestine (w/ respect to elections in "Palestine and Iraq"). This misuse of a "news story" to promote a political agenda that implies political realities that do not exist is highly disturbing. Meanwhile, "Prime Minister" Abbas seems to be nothing more than Arafat in a fancy suit (no surprise there either). Just witness his embrace of terrorist murderers this week -- photographed being carried on the shoulders of some of the most wanted Palestinian killers (despite the Palestinian obligation to dismantle terror organizations and the untold broken "promises" to give up violence); and his use of the term "Zionist Enemy" to refer to Israel. Those expecting much out of the Piece, er "Peace Process" process post Palestinian election are bound to be severely disappointed.
