The power of language

Reader comment on item: Palestinian Word Games

Submitted by Helga Weisburger (United States), Jan 4, 2005 at 17:36

I finally see someone commenting on the subtle use of language to establish erroneous facts. I am incensed everytime I hear someone (and this comes from everywhere, including our politicians who should know better) use the word "Palestine" - there is no such an entity - but there must be a reason why they use it. It is an insidious way to establish the fact of the state of Palestine - it can't just be a mistake - it has never been corrected by a media that analyzes every word uttered by everyone.
