The Olympic committee also recognizes "Palestine" Reader comment on item: Palestinian Word Games

When listing those who recognize the fictitious country of Palestine, Daniel Pipes forgot to mention the International Olympic Committee (or however they're called). I was very angry to see Palestinian athletes marched through the opening ceremonies as if they were from a real place. I don't mind ANY athlete competing, but these should have been told that if they want to participate, they have to march with Israel, or find another Arab country to sponsor them. That would have been: 1) The correct thing to do 2) The way to promote the supposed "true ideals" of the Olympics: Get along or get out.
But then, of course, the committee also didn't bother to penalize Iran for having one of its athletes deliberately disqualify himself from a wrestling match against the Israel athlete (by stuffing himself until he was over the weight limit).
Oh, and a "recognition mention" should probably go to the Nobel Peace Prize committee for: A) Giving arch-terrorist, and murderer of THOUSANDS, Yasser Arafat, a prize in the first place B) Threatening to take it away from Shimon Peres (of all people!) the only fool to continue---tirelessly---to push for resuming the peace talks C) Giving a Nobel Peace Prize to Koffi Anan and the UN the very same year as the incredibly anti-Semitic Durban conference.
