Kant vs Israel

Reader comment on item: Immanuel Kant vs. Israel
in response to reader comment: some recent facts about the national idea

Submitted by Morry Markovitz (United States), Aug 22, 2010 at 23:05

I have no disagreement with what you say. I was responding to the two specific views expressed in an article. Kant's is an irrational, self-contradictory collectivist philosophy and is at the root of both "paradigms" which the article had described as being attributable to Kant in only one instance. What you describe fits neither of the two paradigms mentioned in the article, and so misses the point altogether. I am not against individual nations' existence, nor do I think there is only one explanation or justification for them. They exist and that's that. I was summarizing or recapping the specific views expressed by someone else, and addressing only those 2 specific views. Obviously there exist other views in the world, y ours amongst them. I made no comment about them. I have no idea how your comments relate to what I posted.
